St. James Food Pantry

St. Vincent DePaul Society Food Pantry

The St. Vincent DePaul Society is a group of men and women who care for the needs of the poor. The major work carried on by the society at St. James is the Food Pantry.

Our Food Pantry receives the majority of the food that is distributed through the The Emergency Food Assistance Program which is administrated by the USDA and distributed through the St. Louis Area Food Bank.

The distribution of food takes place on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Mobile Market Food Distribution times are posted at the food pantry during the Third Saturday Distribution. Also, in order to lessen contact, we will only be loading food into trunks, rear hatches and backs of trucks. We will NOT load food into passenger compartments of vehicles, please plan accordingly.

The Society meets the Monday prior to the food distribution at 6:00 PM in the SVDP Food Pantry.

The Knights of Columbus and the St. Vincent DePaul Society sponsor a “Food of the Month” drive. Each month a food item will be designated and parishioners, especially children, are asked to bring food items to donate. A basket will be placed outside the church doors for the food items at each Mass. Please be generous and support the hungry. All donations go directly to our St. Vincent DePaul Society Food Pantry which serves those in need in our area.

● You must meet TEFAP income guidelines to receive food.

The guidelines can be found here: APPLICATION FOR RECEIPT OF USDA FOODS
